Engedi, empowering people with disability

Welcome Abbi to Engedi Therapy!

Engedi Therapy is thrilled to welcome speech pathology student Abbi to our team!

Meet Abbi: "My name is Abbi, and I grew up in Mackay before starting my university degree in Townsville, where I studied a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours). I am graduating in June and have moved back home to start my career as a new graduate at Engedi!
I have always wanted to be a part of and give back to the community. I am excited to work with clients to achieve their goals. I have previous experience working with children and am eager to expand my knowledge in adult communication and swallowing areas of practice. I have a special interest in literacy and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC).
In my spare time, I love hanging out with my dogs Rosie and Coco, camping, going to the beach, reading, and spending quality time with my family."

Abbi will be starting as a new grad speech therapist in June, working alongside our experienced Fiona! Engedi is working hard to meet the high demand for Speech Therapy in Mackay. Keep an eye on our social media to know when our waitlist for speech therapy at Engedi reopens.

Welcome to the team, Abbi!

Welcome Leanne

Leanne holds an Advanced Bachelor of Arts degree from Canada, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Family Social Science. She brings valuable experience around supporting people with complex needs, having worked across supported independent living, community access, as well as day program environments. Passionate about the wellbeing of others and committed to providing individualised support, Leanne embraces a person-centred approach and mindset in the PBSP space.

Outside of work, Leanne has started a new hobby of lap swimming, though also enjoys being a dog-mum to her golden Labrador, Lucky, and hosting craft-ternoons with friends.

Engedi is now accepting referrals for Positive Behaviour Support and you can make a referral to Leanne or any of our other Allied Health Service providers via our on-line referral platform by visiting our Therapy Hub page.

Welcome to the team, Leanne!
